The Pressure

This is going to be a long post.

It's finally August, and I know that I'm running out of time to get out of here. My life literally is one bated breath right now.
I'm going to sort out my life by the end of the year, or the dream is officially over. A large aspect of the dream fled years ago, tbh. I'm fairly superstitious so I don't like to say what I'm doing before I've done it. But at the same time I need to make progress so I'll do my best to state what's going on.

Writing: The best route to take is winning literary competitions, and attracting the attention of an agent. Or at least having a portfolio of successful work to present to an agent. Plus a little literary recognition can't hurt.

It's definitely time to focus. I'm going to enter seven writing competitions between now and August 2011. I'll refer to each competition as Competition A, B, C and so forth.

I'm going to rehash and reshape my novel. I find that my novel is still without a title, and slightly without a purpose. But I've developed this story for about 10 years now, so I think it's about time to give it life and structure. What's a good estimate- 90,000 words by August 2011? I'll see if I can get little barometers to keep up with my progress on here.

Work: I need to get a new permanent job. I can't believe I'm still unemployed, I've had 14 jobs, and been working since I was 14, and now, during a recession and political climate change, I am without work. No more!

Life: I need to move out again, and move away. Plus I want a new car. It's about frickin time. I also want to get back into an upscale lifestyle, even if I have to work two jobs to do it. No more of this crummy living...

It's time to start doing the things, that make me, me. Dancing, drawing, running, and learning different languages. I will do it, regardless of money.

And finally I'm going to start socialising and taking photos again. This blog is looking a little sparse, and I think a nice lashing of design and aesthetics will perk this place up. Although I think that I'm actually in need of a little revamp myself.

The clock's ticking.
